Is retirement in your near future? We are offering a retirement workshop for any employee (from all work groups) who my be considering retirement in the near future. This is a form of personal financial literacy, so this PD session will count for 2 PD hours when it comes to movement on the teacher salary schedule. The session will be run as a hands-on workshop as there are activities planned for people to examine and understand what their financial picture may look like when they begin to receive their WRS pension payments. A discussion will take place about non-financial retirement-related things to consider as well.
REQUIRED: A laptop (or iPad), and a copy of your latest ETF retirement statement that was sent in the spring of last year. If you have requested an estimate of benefits (for those that are eligible for that statement and over 55) bring that statement with you. Facilitator is Jack Stoskopf, Jr., Assistant Superintendent for Business and Personnel Services at DCE. Mr. Stoskopf has done considerable research on the topic and would like to share what he has learned about planning for retirement with those who may be interested. Eligibility: All employees. The workshop is geared toward those planning to retire soon or anytime in the next 6 to 7 years. Employees are welcome to bring their spouse. Disclaimer: This session is for informational purposes only and should not to be considered legal financial advice or official advice from the Employee Trust Fund.
