Mindfulness - Calm Classroom: In 30 seconds to 3 minutes help your students develop strategies to calm and refocus in the classroom. Use simple research-based mindfulness techniques to help students develop self-awareness, mental focus, and inner clam. Learn about effective ways to help our students manage stress, regulate their emotions, and lead more productive, well-balanced lives. This will be a 3 part series. Staff can attend all sessions, two, or one.
Calm Classroom - Focus & Relaxation
We can improve our ability to focus by practicing paying attention to one thing at at time. When you notice your mind wandering, gently bring your attention back to the object of your focus. Learn about how to apply this strategy in your classroom. This relates to relaxation in understand what it feels like when our bodies are truly relaxed. This is an important skill that will help students deal with stress and improve their overall well-being. The body response to stress levels in the brain leads to decreased energy, lack of motivation and capacity to learn. This session will introduce ways to reduce overall stress levels.
